Just spoke with Joshua Jensen-Nagle at Newzones. It's a real range of work and techniques.

He was explaining one of the photographs of Newfoundland was shot on large format film, then the large scale print is put into a custom built tank and dyed.

Newfoundland never looked better.

Newzones Gallery in Calgary opens Exposure 2010 with the solo show "New Canadiana" from photographer Joshua Jensen-Nagle.

Also at Newzones is the the group exhibition "Perception" with images by such photographers as Dianne Bos and James Holroyd.

Joshua Jensen-Nagle Summits at Exposure 2010


Joshua Jensen-Nagle has been getting a lot of press these days for work that combines photographic process with dying, staining and other alternative techniques. The result: photographic prints that have a timeless and somewhat eerie quality.

Check out his landscape work, including pieces that interpret the mountains of Banff at Newzones Gallery. His solo show opens there on Jan. 30th.

There's a good story about Joshua Jensen-Nagle's photography. He's having a solo show at Calgary's Newzones Gallery as part of Exposure 2010.

The opening at Newzones happens on the evening of January 30.

Also in Galleries West is a roundup piece about a slection of the many other exhibitions taking place as part of this year's Festival.

Robert Semeniuk


Canadian photojournalist Robert Semeniuk will be in Calgary this February as part of Exposure 2010.

A self described activist Semeniuk is undoubtedly passionate about his work which has included projects on HIV/AIDS, the dispossessed children of Gaza and street kids in Vancouver.

On of his most recent projects has been documenting the devastating effects of trachoma, the world's leading cause of preventable blindness.

A documentary photographer and writer, Robert is also the founder of On The Ground, an organization dedicated to supporting and presenting documentary photography.

There's a lot to take in so start planning your February outings now.
